Jason Silver has an extensive career in government, mostly at the Municipal level, having served as Director of Corporate Services for the City of Mount Pearl for almost 10 years and as City Internal Auditor for the City of St. John’s for five years.
Mr. Silver has considerable community and professional board experience in Newfoundland and Labrador, including the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Newfoundland and Labrador Branch, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Institute of Internal Auditors (Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter), and the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador Branch). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Paradise Minor Hockey Association as Treasurer and on the Governance Committee for the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Mr. Silver is a Fellow Chartered Accountant/Chartered Professional Accountant (2011), completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador (1997), received his Chartered Accountant Designation in 1999, and received his Certified Fraud Examiner designation in 2007 and his Certified Internal Auditor designation in 2009.
