As a member of the Marketing & Communications department, this position is responsible for the following, in both beverage alcohol and cannabis lines of business:

  • Tracks and ensures a timely response to all inquiries from customers and the general public via in-person interactions, incoming phone calls, letters, emails and online customer surveys;
  • As the first line of customer relations (phone, email and in-person), ensures positive customer interactions;
  • Ensures the smooth flow of administrative processes within the department;
  • Develops purchase orders and tracks projects to ensure payments are made on time and within budget;
  • Organizes and books departmental business travel;
  • Files expense reports;
  • Reviews and reconciles accounts;
  • Assists departmental staff with the delivery of monthly marketing and communications initiatives;
  • Communicates with store managers and staff to ensure marketing objectives and timelines are understood;
  • Assembles and distributes materials, as required, for communications initiatives and engagements;
  • Updates in-store audio playlists with appropriate music mix and keeps all in-store messaging/commercials up-to-date;
  • Gathers relevant product and promotion details from marketing and category staff to ensure timely delivery of information for use in various forms of social media;
  • Maintains accurate daily attendance records.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Graduation from a two (2) year post-secondary diploma program in Office Administration;
  • Two (2) years’ experience in an administrative support role ideally with a marketing and communications department in a multi-site retail operation with a strong focus on customer relations;
  • Experience in administrative support for departmental functions including payroll, attendance, budget monitoring and financial duties;
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills as required for interaction with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Significant working knowledge of computer applications required to support retail operations including ability to operate standard office equipment, ability to maintain effective filing systems and proficiency in document formatting;
  • Excellent time management as required in a fast paced retail marketing environment;
  • Retail experience would be considered an asset.
