Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation (NLC) announced the amount raised from its latest fundraising campaign today. The Keeping Families Close campaign, which was held in NLC corporate Liquor Stores from August 23 to September 1, raised $79,007 in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities NL and their Red Shoe Crew Walk for Families annual event.
The success of the campaign was made possible thanks to the generosity of NLC’s customers, supplier partners, and NLC staff members. NLC also contributed $15,000 towards the campaign. In addition to NLC’s in-store fundraising campaign, staff from NLC’s retail locations, Distribution Centre, Rock Spirits, and corporate office will be participating in the Red Shoe Crew Walk for Families, which is being held at various locations in the province throughout September and October.
NLC’s latest Community Giving efforts are driven by the corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility platform, Together with Purpose. Through this platform, NLC is committed to working collaboratively as an organization and with external stakeholders to give back in ways that are more meaningful – to support local communities, minimize its environmental impact, and lead positive change in the beverage alcohol and cannabis industries.
“Ronald McDonald House is there supporting so many families in a time of great need,” said Bruce Keating, NLC President and CEO. “We are proud to have NLC, our customers, employees, and suppliers partner with Ronald MacDonald House to do our part in helping those families, and more broadly to make our communities and our province just a little better.”
Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families needing to stay close to their child while they are receiving ongoing medical care at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Last year alone, Ronald McDonald House provided family centered programs and services to 242 local families in need. Funds raised from NLC’s Keeping Families Close campaign will support Ronald McDonald House in their efforts to keep families close when it matters most.
“Thank you to NLC and their customers for your generous support and commitment to Ronald McDonald House. Your substantial contribution is not just a financial gift but a powerful endorsement of our mission,” said Christina Morgan, Director Development and Communications with Ronald McDonald House. “With your help, we can continue to keep families together and near the medical care and resources they need. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and belief in our work to support sick children and their families in Newfoundland and Labrador."
