Welcome to the VTP, Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation’s new pre-authorized payment system.

Please read our FAQ's carefully to learn about what VTP is and isn't, and if this system is necessary for your business dealing with the NLC.

What is VTP?
The Virtual Terminal Portal (VTP) is Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation’s new pre-authorized payment system. This solution allows NLC customers to make secure payments online for products purchased through our stores. It also allows you to securely manage your own contact and payment information. NLC replaces our previous payment system, Global Virtual Terminal (GVT).
Who can use VTP?

VTP is made available for the following customers:

  • A licensed establishment in Newfoundland and Labrador (Bar, Restaurant, etc.)
  • An NLC Wine Show customer who has previously purchased directly from the show
  • A volume or specialty product purchaser from NLC
How do I register for VTP?

If you meet one of the VTP criteria, above, you can contact VTP Support to request an account be set up for you. This request should contain the following information:

  • Your contact name and email address
  • Your NLC account number, of one exists
  • The names and license numbers for any/all
  • businesses associated with this account

Once your registration has been approved, an account will be created on your behalf. You will receive an email from NLC which contains a link to the VTP website, where you can complete your setup and activate your account.

Note: You do not need to send credit card numbers to NLC when requesting an account. You will be asked to enter that information into the secure site when activating your account.

How Do I Activate my account?

When you receive your welcome email from VTP, you can click the link in that message, which will open your web browser and load the VTP website account setup page. Account activation involves three steps:

  1. Create a password
  2. Set up some challenge questions and answers that you can answer in the event you forget your password.
  3. Add a credit card. One card is required to activate you account, but you may add additional cards once you setup is complete.
How do I manage my account?

Once your account is activated, you can manage your own account via our customer website: https://vtp.nlliquor.com. This secure website allows you to manage the following account information:

  • Contact Name
  • Special Instructions
  • Credit Card(s)

The following information is not editable you, the customer:

  • Contact email address
  • Business profiles

To add/change/remove any of this information, contact VTP Support.

Is my credit card information secure?

All credit card information is stored in a secure, encrypted format, with our payment provider. Card information is not human readable once it is entered into the VTP system.

Note: You do not need to send any credit card numbers to NLC. NLC employees have no access to your credit card information. That information is managed by you alone.

How do I Order product through VTP?

VTP is a payment system only. All orders are placed by phone, email, or in person through your NLC Liquor Store. When orders are ready for pickup, payment will be processed by the Liquor Store, in the VTP system, using the payment card on file.

Can I use different cards for different businesses in my account?

Yes. Your account can hold up to five credit cards. Your account profile contains a “Special Instructions” field. You can use this field to instruct the store as to which card to use for each business in your account.

How do I reset my password?

If you forget your password, you can use the forgot password screen to gain access to your account. This screen will ask you to answer one of the questions you chose during your initial setup. Once you have answered your question correctly, you will be able to enter a new password for your account.

What do I do If I forget my password?

If you do not know the password, contact VTP Support. VTP Support, upon verifying your identity, can send you a link to create a new password.

How do I unlock my account?

As a security precaution, you have a limited number of attempts to enter your password correctly, before your account is locked. (Hint: check that ALL CAPS is not on prior to entering your password, as passwords are case-sensitive).

If you account becomes locked, contact VTP Support. VTP Support, upon verifying your identity, can unlock your account.

What are my options if I do not want to use VTP?

If you do not wish to use VTP to payments, you may simply pay for your order when you pick it up at your Liquor Store, using one of the accepted point-of-sale payment methods.

Your website looks weird in my web browser. What should I do?

VTP is best viewed in one of the following web browsers:

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 9 or higher
  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
When I click the link you sent me in an email, I get an error message. What should I do?

If the link sent to you in an email does not work, contact VTP Support for assistance.
