Sean Ryan joined the NLC in 2012 as Director of Regulatory Compliance and has held his current positon since April 2018. His career in Law Enforcement includes more than 25 years’ experience in senior leadership roles as an Officer with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, Oil Investigations Officer with Environment Canada and his current position with NLC.

Mr. Ryan was the Project Lead on the Cannabis Implementation Team for the Province; past Chairperson of the National Social Responsibility Board and National Resource Protection Committee, Canadian Association of Liquor Jurisdictions; a founding member of the National Enforcement Committee (COPS – Council of Public Safety), focusing on organized crime, and was appointed to the provincial OxyContin Task Force.

Sean has been invested by the Governor General as a Member into the Order of the Police Forces of Canada, a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, Award of Merit from the Canada Border Services and the Award of Excellence, Atlantic Canadian Police Association.
