End Impaired Driving

Impaired driving impacts more than just you. Losing a loved one to impaired driving lasts forever, and life will never be the same for those left behind.

Make the responsible life choice. If you plan on consuming alcohol or cannabis, plan a safe way home.

Have a designated driver, call a cab, or take public transportation.

Hosting a gathering?

Here are some important tips to help ensure a safe time for you and your guests.

  • As the host, drink minimally or not at all. If anything does arise, you will be able to manage it effectively and safely.

  • Serve drinks yourself or designate a responsible bartender to avoid overdrinking by guests. Measure your drinks appropriately by using a shot glass or jigger and avoid serving double drinks.

  • Have food readily available. Create your own charcuterie board with a variety of cheese, meats, crackers, bread, nuts, vegetables and fruit.

  • Always ensure that you provide non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages options. As a bonus, offer a mocktail as a signature drink.

  • Never serve alcohol to minors and never serve guests to the point of intoxication.

  • Stop serving alcoholic beverages at least an hour before the party is over.

  • Plan activities for your guests so that drinking isn’t the main focus of the party. Drinking games encourage alcohol being consumed too quickly and could lead to alcohol poisoning, which is potentially fatal.

  • Ensure guests have a safe way home. Confirm designated drivers and keep cab information on hand. If a safe transportation option is not available, your party just turned into a sleepover.
