Michelle Jewer holds the position as Deputy Minister of Finance with the Department of Finance. Prior to this she joined the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2000 at the Office of the Auditor General. Since that time, she has held several financial leadership positions in Government across various departments including the Department of Education, the Department of Health and Community Services, Department of Finance and Treasury Board Secretariat. Ms. Jewer has held the role of Comptroller General and her most recent role was as the Secretary to the Treasury Board (Acting) with the Treasury Board Secretariat.

A graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland, Ms. Jewer holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative) degree and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

In accordance with the Liquor Corporation Act, Ms. Jewer was appointed to NLC’s Board in a non-voting capacity in September 2021, in conjunction with her appointment as Deputy Minister of Finance with the Department of Finance.
